Doing the easiest of the 3 preserves in Los Gatos. We'll start from my work parking lot in Campbell that's connected to the Los Gatos Creek Trail, take a scenic, paved bike route through Lake Vasona, and then continue through to St. Joseph Preserve. To be respectful to the hikers, I will keep this ride small. I'm enforcing a speed limit no faster than 15mph on the downhill. 900 foot climb over 13 miles. This ride is great if you're new to biking or if you just want to spin. The only hard section is a very short climb up "cardiac hill" and then the rest of the ride is smooth sailing.
If you want to meet at Vasona Park, you can do that as well since my work is only about a 5-8 minute ride from there. I only ask that any meeting point you choose is directly along the Los Gatos Creek Trail (inbetween my work and St. Joseph's Preserve) otherwise I may not see you.
A helmet and properly functioning mountain bike is required for this ride. Not recommended for hybrid bikes.
Tires roll at 5:40pm from my work.
*Please note that although this ride is extremely easy for riders at the intermediate level and up, the short climbs here are slightly tougher than those found at Fremont Older based on feedback from other beginner riders.
