Santa Cruz- Emma McCrary and UC- Advanced Beginner

This ride is for you if you're not a beginner, but you're not super fast either. It will be a casual, recreational ride- with opportunity to push yourself. Slow climbing in the beginning- but not needing to stop along the way except for major intersections. Then, narrow root-cluttered trails leading to log roll-overs. Only stopping at intersections so we don't lose each other. Down hill fastness takes us back to the cars.
About 16 miles, 3+ hours. We are out here to ride together and to have fun doing it! This will be a social ride.
Please make sure your bike is all tuned-up and ready to roll. Bring an extra tube and chain link, bike pump- necessary for trailside repairs. Snack for midway break, and water. Of course, don't forget your helmet!

Looks like you guys had a good time today. I thought about coming out but I rode at Fort Ord yesterday, it kicked my butt. :)

Are you guys ready for some cold? As long as you keep moving you stay warm. My toes froze today so prepare for that. And having my ears covered helped tremendously. See y'all in the morning !

You can meet me at the usual spot... Starbucks at coleman Taylor if you'd like. Or somewhere near 85 and 880 if that works better for you let me know. Say 0800

Its actually starting to feel better. Every now and then I get a sharp shooting pain but with time it should be good. Thanks for the advice.

I'll be looking to put a few leaders in charge as we may split into groups- which has never been a problem because our leaders rock!

I realized this a "16 miles, 3+ hours" ride. A little much for the two of us. 8-9 miles pushes the limits. Is there a easy spot to turn off and not get lost to get back to the cars in case I need to go back early? I think last Sunday you had a shorter ride at the same place.

    December 3, 2013

    • Krista

      Yes, easy!

I would say about 4 miles up, turn around.... 4 miles down- or less. If you want to to do that it would be simple to add you both to the ride.

This same ride is also happening on December 21st!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
