Jane's Conquer Demo-Intermediate Women's Ride

So now that I have an all-mountain bike on the way, it's time for me to learn the trails of Soquel Demonstration State Forest. I'll be out there for my 4th time a week before this, and should have "Cort's Route" figured by then. According to David, it goes like this:

14 miles

2700 feet of climbing

Corral Trail Down, Sulfur Springs Road Up, Braille Trail Down- then up to cars via Hihn's Mill Road (AKA Cort's Route)

About a week before this date I will post more details. This is not a beginner friendly ride. This will be a slower paced ride on the climbs and intermediate on the down hills.

Let's do this ladies! We have to keep our downhill skills up-to-par for Northstar this year!

Get on the list, more details soon... Also, if you know the trails let me know, that would be great! We're sticking to "Cort's Route" as above but any guidance would be so appreciated!

I like how we even ran into the perfect example of why these rides are so great. Guys, don't drag your significant other to demo without a clue as to what's in store then ditch them. Not cool.

We aren't breaking any Strava records- but that's not what we're about. Had a blast being out in nature, learning new trails, and riding with friendly people. Getting it on film is pretty cool too. Looking forward to next time. Tell your girlfriends!

Thank you ladies for wearing bright colors and being patient with the camera/film crew. You Janes are looking awesome on all the shots.

Did any of you leave your shoes behind? And a pair of shorts? Give me the approx location you were parked at Demo and a description of shoes/shorts and I will be sure to return them to you. I didn't ride with you today, but was up doing trailwork on the new Flow Trail...

If anyone wants to go to the Loma Prieta Winery afterward (I understand the Summit store is also popular) I'll foot the wine tasting bill. I can take 3 guests and pay for anyone else if people want to go. It's right up the hill from Demo. They have snacks but please bring food so you don't loop out!! Their tasting has both chocolate and cheese, it's pretty fun. Bring a warm jacket and if it is a clear day the view is spectacular! http://www.lomaprietawinery.com/

[And if no one wants to go, it's ok!]

In case any of you are wondering... The pace will be slow with stops on the way down for photos and possible video. His will not be a hammer fest. I am recovering from a hard hitting crash to my head and shoulders. So this will be a slow paced ride.

Bummed I will miss the ride, my Turner is still in Murrieta getting rebuilt and repowdercoated by Turner Bicycles. I will, however, be working on the new Flow Trail at Demo!

Did you know bright clothing makes your riding look much more awesome on film? The louder your clothing the better. Plus it helps the cameras auto focus on you.

Fredric, I definitely want those orange heels instead of the Breitling:) I'll need them for this ride...

Just follow us to the white panel van parked out back lol :)

Awesome to see such great support for the best Santa Cruz based ride leader. You're going to have a blast, especially if we keep getting rain in between. The trails of demo need the moisture right now.

There's been a couple of attempts with the guys trying to join this ride- Sorry guys, this is a WOMEN'S ride. No amount of lipstick, wigs, or skirts will help you.

I've been lurking here for a while. One of my favorite places to ride. Would like to join you and meet some other fellow lady riders. My boyfriend will probably ride in with me but do his own loop.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
