Arastradero - advanced beginner ride

Each week, I plan to schedule an intermediate pace ride on Tuesdays and an advanced beginner pace ride on Thursdays - alternating locations.  Note: may change park location if trails are closed or cancel ride due to rain.  Be sure to check back day prior to for any updates.

Both rides will be at my usual moderate pace to build endurance. A few brief stops on the intermediate rides due to daylight and park closing times and more frequent (but brief) stops on the advanced beginner rides.  The route may be shorter or differ on the advanced beginner rides.  We will not be riding recreational/social so please read each ride detail carefully.  Email me if any questions.

Pace:  advanced beginner.  Expect a 10 mile ride.

Start time:  promptly at 5:30pm.  Parking lot closes at 8:00pm.

Terrain/type:  single track/fire road/switchbacks/bowls optional

Bring:  extra tube/master chain link/water and helmet.

Watch speed/rangers and yield to hikers/joggers.  Must stop for equestrians and wait for instructions.

Stephen - master of the big bowl. Glad you came out to ride. If we're ever in NM, you can tell us about some good trails out there. See you on another ride soon.

Julie, I'm already scheduled for the Santa Teresa, Thursday, March 27!
Regarding New Mexico, it would be my pleasure to host any of you
who visit the Albuquerque area to ride. There are a lot of great mtb. Singletracks.com
recently included ABQ in it's top 10 list:

Also, there is the NMES and ZiaRides - These two orgs have sites that list the key races/events in the state:

The terrain and trails in some areas are similar to that in the bay area but much is very different. We have lots of rock beds of all sizes (lots of rocks!), and cactus (lots of cactus!), and rattlesnakes, coyote, deer, jackrabbit, bear, and roadrunner. I hope to see you all on the 27th at Santa Teresa!

Who was that random Filipino guy that just joined this ride without RSVP'ing? Had he not been so sexy looking I would have kicked him off the ride.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
