Mission Peaks: Intermediate

It's Daylight Savings!!! I'm focusing on getting my strength back after my knee injury.  This is where I mainly train to develop my leg strength and cardio. The first 3 miles is a pretty tough climb. We're talking about a 1800 ft elevation gain in under 3 miles and we'll still be climbing more after that.  That being said, I'm going slow and steady so it doesn't become a death climb for everyone.

We'll be starting from the parking lot off of Stanford Ave. and climb up to the communication towers.  Depending on the skillset of the riders, maybe we'll do another section I can't post here on a public forum =)

We'll descend down the side that leads to Ohlone College and then take a quick ride back on the paved road to our cars. Parking is really tough so I just usually park in the residential area and bike to the parking lot.

Helmet and properly functioning mountain bike required for this ride.

11 people to climb mission peak on a Sunday morning? Are you giving out free beers or bbq after the ride?

We should change the route so that we descend down to Ed Levine and land at your house in Milpitas where you'll have the BBQ and beer ready for us.

That's too bad Jay, this would have been the perfect ride for you to wear dark sunglasses on the climb up.

Is it OK if I just tag along? I live at the base of the mountain and I can ride on my own and "unexpectedly" meet you guys there.

Don't worry, I'm one of the organizers who just lets everyone off the waitlist since it's normal that about 40% drop off the last minute anyways. If not....oh well the more the merrier
