Stevens Creek Canyon - Intermediate Pace

Ride starts promptly at 5:30pm.

Pace:  intermediate - minimal stops.  Due to limited daylight must be strong climber

Parking:  intersection Stevens Canyon/Redwood Gulch or drive up Redwood Gulch and park in pullouts.  Nearest bathroom is near the intersection of Stevens Canyon/Mt Eden Road.

Route:  up Canyon, up Bella Vista or Indian Creek, to Black Mountain, down Bella Vista, down Canyon.  Depending upon the pace, we might alter the route to fit in more miles.

Bring water, helmet, bike light (just in case), extra tube and master chain link.

Trail is combo of single track and fire road loose dirt/rocks, some rooty/rocky section but nothing too technical.

I wish I could have made it. I like riding with the fast climbers it makes me try harder.

After the ride at stevens canyon..pretty much. : ) You comment on how much stronger others have gotten but you definitely have increased strength and endurance. Next year I hope you can venture out. You'll love the trails out of state. No speed limit ; )

I normally do the fun single track down, White Oak Trail?. I have never done Bella or Indian. Sounds like a lot more climbing. How many total miles/vert feet?

    August 19

    • Julie

Depends upon the pace and endurance of the group. This is a strong group. It'll all be fun...promise : )

If it is the standard ride to top parking lot and then the loop down, 13.2 miles, 2400 feet, about 1 1/2 hours

    August 19

    • Julie

Standard?!? Must have missed the "bring bike light just in case" detail : )

      August 19

  • Mark

    August 19

    • Neal

Yeah that's a good estimate. Mark, I have yet to be on a ride with you which you could not handle. This is a good prelude to Vista on Sunday but we will have time constraints at canyon due to sunset.
