2698 Carlmont Dr, Belmont, CA
Creatures may not be stirring on the night before Christmas, but on the morning eve of that eve we will be.
Come out and join us for a great MTB ride at Waterdog Lake in Belmont. This is going to be an all-skills level fun and friendly ride RAIN or SHINE!
Waterdog is by far the best of the small parks in the area surrounding San Jose. It features amazingly fun and tight single track with quick sharp climbs and amazing switchbacks.
C pace: beginner friendly social pace. As long as you've been riding fairly often this season and have gotten a good set of legs and lungs built up you'll be fine. This place has some short steep climbs that will take out of you, but we won't be pushing a fast pace so if you have to walk them you'll be fine.
Tech 7/10: I think I would normally rate this place a 5 or 6 but being that it's winter and possibly going to be wet I want to make sure people realize that this terrain is technical, even at slower speeds.
Phys 5/10: The slower pace keeps this ride's aerobic rating down. The steep climbs we encounter are no big deal if everyone keeps together and waits for one another.
7 miles: my usual route is 7-7.5 miles but we may do a little more or less depending on the group. There are some great options for doubling back to do some extra fun stuff.
As always a helmet is required for all SJMTB rides and extra protective gear is recommended if you are tentative about riding down rocky trails. If the ride is relatively short so you shouldn't need too much in the way of supplies. Water, a small snack, and your basic trail side tools (multi-tool, tube, pump) should be sufficient for these rides. Longer rides will require a bit more in the way of water and supplies. If you've got questions please contact the ride organizer or refer to the links below.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
