Thursday's Topic

Dear Writers,

I'm looking forward to our upcoming meeting on Thursday, July 17.The group continues to grow and we are nearing 50 members. It's fun and inspiring to see new faces at our meetings, and encouraging and heartwarming to see our "regulars" return.

Our topic for discussion will be about creating emotional impact in our writing, or as Burroway says in Writing Fiction, "...reproducing the emotional impact of experience." Bring your ideas, observations, and/or examples to share with the group.

I'm planning on going to see Lisa Jensen discuss her new novel, Alias Hook, at Bookshop Santa Cruz on Wednesday night, July 16, at 7:30. If you'd like to meet me there, shoot me an email so we can find each other and sit together. Here's the link for more details: http://www.bookshopsantacruz.com/event/lisa-jensen

Happy writing,

Kimberly
