This group is about getting together in old fashioned dinner party settings hosted by me and other members. People come as couples or singles, or by themselves as their partner is busy. The roots of this group was a purely single group and today there remains a large single attendance. But, as I saw myself go in and out of relationships, I thought I really wanted a group that included everyone, and that relationship status was really not an issue.
This dinner party group is to discuss frankly, candidly in a group setting, in a fun upbeat atmosphere, love's pitfalls and remedies. It used to be called a number of titles (and strangely... "Santa Barbara Men" is stuck in the computer world as one of the names that pops up...I'm working on that!) but Santa Barbara Social Dinner Party is really what this group is all about. We get together, introduce ourselves to each other as I lead the group, then take on interesting topics about relationships and love -- just for the fun of it!
Some of the topics we discuss are things like how to engender loyalty, devotion, and intimacy with the person of your choice, how to detect when a negative signal from a person does not have anything to do with you, so you shouldn't take it personally in life, duration of relationships, how to keep them or get them long terms, how to figure out if love can grow, and all kinds of things.
You may participate on a minimal level up to maximum, but because I want the group to include everyone, it's best if we save our deeper, more talkative delves into the subject for the parts of the evening when we break off, a few times in the night.
You need a definite RSVP --- email it to me through this site as a sign up or go privately to my email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Cost for evening: $20 to help host/hostess cover costs and please bring a nice bottle of wine. -- includes all wine, dinner, dessert.
Members offer their homes, or their cooking, or a combination as they like. It's very much appreciated, but not necessary to participate in the group. I often host, but love others to offer!
