Green Blocking: Tales from the Trenches about Resistance to Green Tech

Everyone loves going green, until it means that somebody has to actually modify their behavior. Our two presenting ventures will discuss the realities of implementing green processes, products and services at actual client sites and against institutional inertia. Paul McGrath of RideSpring (.com) will speak about the world of alternative commuting services and Reesa Abrams will discuss her experiences in computer memory scrubbing and refurbishment.

Update on the 'Green Blocking' story in the Sentinel (and the Mercury News):
Years into grant to reduce emissions in Santa Cruz, meager returns realized

You will see that I have also posted a response showing that this situation is a lot worse than that the RTC and Air District would like the public to believe. Connect at:

Thanks to all that attended the RideSpring presentation on Wednesday. Now you know more than 90%+ of employers about what the real world challenges, and costs of what is takes to make an effective commute program! Follow up posting about the presentation on http://greenstartupstory.com/ Good question to tweet…
AB[masked] delivered less than 1% than expected. Why has this project been extended from 2 to 5 yrs?

Once again, I'm wondering when the Meetup fee was raised to Ten Bucks? I object, but then I don't come for the food. I'm also glad that the meeting is again on tech issues besides those for the 3D Makers. I'm very interested in emerging New Tech meetups for $5 fee, food or no food, and am not hands on with 3D-makings at this time. Anyone else interested in having a variety of new tech presenters and ideas at the New Tech Meetups, or am I missing something here? Dean

Imagine green 'flocking' instead of green 'blocking'. Imagine Santa Cruz putting up this startup pirates flag along with 'Social Innovation Europe'. Be cool wouldn't it? Maybe we can detour the blocks and join the flocks? http://socialinnovationeurope.e...
