Rattlesnake Avoidance Training Clinic for Dogs 2013
Mountains Restoration Trust, a Santa Monica Mountains nonprofit, is now taking reservations for the 2013 Rattlesnake Avoidance Training Clinic for Dogs. The one-on-one training process is repeated several times to ensure that the dog understands the sight, smell and sound of a rattlesnake. (Rattlesnakes have a distinctive odor that dogs can discern from other snakes). The clinic is conducted in a safe, humane, controlled environment ensuring the safety of dogs and rattlesnakes. Poisonous snakes are out the year round in southern California. Spring sessions are being held May 18 & 19, 2013 - appointment times between 8am to 5pm. Please allow approximately one hour for the training and process. Times are set for the one-on-one training but it is more to get a sequence of order rather than an absolute start time. Must pre-register online (http://mountainstrust.eventbrite.com). Call[masked] if you need assistance. Fee: $70. Professional training conducted by Tracy Presson of High on Kennels. Proceeds benefit MRT's programs of acquisition, restoration and education of parkland in the Santa Monica Mountains, including trails.
