As always, a very pleasant outing. Awesome workout and a splendid time with a great group of friends and fellow hikers. John, thank you for organizing the outing. I had a great time, and thank you all for your warm reception of me strumming and singing. Many thanks to our in-house photographers for sharing their lovely photos. Ah, the Buckhorn experience was one of a kind. When we returned to the Lodge for freshening up before our departure form Baldy; the band's lady drummer noticed my guitar and asked me why did not I join them on the stage earlier? ..... I bet they immensely missed our group's vibrant energy and entertainment on the dance floor soon after we migrated to the Buckhorn Saloon.

Of course, my thoughts and prayers are still with the motorcyclist. And, I hope the search and rescue ended successfully.

    Simple Muffin Recipe
2 1/2 cups bisquick or similar (below)
    1/4 cup sugar or honey
    3/4 cup milk
    3 tbsp melted butter
    2 tbsp jam
(Optional) 1/2 tsp cinnamon or other spice
fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, apricots, pears, etc)

Wash, slice or chop several cups of fruit, more is usually better.
Reserve some slices. Stir ingredients together in a bowl, should
be a big sticky mess. Try to mix fruit in evenly.

Preheat oven to 425F and spray muffin pan. Spoon dough into muffin pan, between 10 and 16 pieces depending on desired size. Push reserved fruit into top of each.

Bake 12 minutes, should brown on top a bit. Remove and cool a
few minutes then remove from pan. Serve or cool and store
    to keep moist.

Today's included strawberries, apricots, peach jam and pear slices.
I also recommend blueberries with orange marmalade.

Alternative to bisquick - http://urbanext.illinois.edu/thriftyliving/tl-quickmix.html Add 1 egg to above recipe when using homemade dry mix.
    Enjoy. -Fred

Moment I'll never forget: the dance of the rolling chairs. John and Irina, that was an inspired performance! The owner of the Buckhorn lodge was pretty unforgettable also (bet Brent will remember that "lapdance"!). The teepee was a lovely moment and I hope the fallen motorcyclist will turn out to be OK. Me, I can't walk and need me one of those rolling chairs this morning, but that was my biggest incline since I was a child, so notch in my belt. That band at the Buckhorn was really cool too. John, thank you so much. And thanks for the endless laughs and giggles! I had a phenomenal day.

    3 · May 19, 2013

John is INCREDIBLY creative! I would never EVER EVER think that it's possible to dance on the rolling chairs! SO much fun!

Oh my.... THAT WAS A BLAST... I crawl home at 2 am... wow!
Hike was beautiful, I don't know how to select 100 pics from 700 I took!!! and it was not easy, which is great! It woke up all muscles in a body, I guess I will remember about them for a week or so! The restaurant, food, dancing, another restaurant, more dancing, and finally tee-pee with Armond's music will become a treasured memory of fun, laugh, and great friends gathering... Thank you John... it was AWESOME!
