Saturday Morning @ Dockweiler Beach Lifeguard Station 50

Dockweiler Beach is an afterthought for most surfers as they drive to El Porto in Manhattan Beach. However, the parking is free and there are never more than about a dozen people out in the water spread out over a quarter mile of beach! The sand bars appear to be building up and there were some fun little windswell peelers over the 4th of July weekend. This is an especially good spot if you are a beginner or hate crowds. Let's meet at lifeguard station 50 at 9am. Lifeguard station 50 is about a half mile north of Imperial Highway. You can park on Vista del Mar instead of the pay parking lots on the beach.

Surf report for tomorrow is 2-3 ft. poor to fair shape. There should be a few fun waves in the overall mix.

Ron, where is tower 50? Is this by the youth center or rv park?

Hey all! Just moved to LA from Vancouver and can't wait to surf a lot more. It's been a couple of years since I last got in the water, so this spot looks perfect to get back into it. See you there!

Do the meters there accept cards or we have to bring quarters?

To clarify, parking on the side of the road on Vista del Mar is free. If you go through the entrance to Dockweiler State Beach at Imperial Highway to park in the lots directly on the beach, parking is $10.

I was probably going to be there anyway since this is actually one of my usual spots. I often hate dealing with the weekend crowds at El Porto so I go here instead. Free parking, mellow vibe, no crowds, cool bunch of regulars and decent waves

Saturday should have good conditions if you are a beginner.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
