With such little interst in heading up to San Marcos for this, I am backing out. If y'all want to go on your own the river clean-up will still be taking place.
San Marcos River Clean Up
Come get your hull wet and help keep the river clean at the same time!
I plan on helping in section 1 or 2. The organizer said he has plenty of folks helping on land, but needs folks in the water.
Where/ when to meet: All volunteers for sections 1 and 2 need to be at City Park in San Marcos for a 10:00 meeting.
Carpool: 8:00 at HEB I-35 and 3009 - close to the frontage road to the right of the gas pumps as you face HEB. Look for my silver Ford Ranger with boats on an overhead rack. You can pick up any last minute drinks, food or gas. I may have room for a few extra boats, gear and people in my truck. I will update as we get closer to 03/02.
What to bring: boat, paddle pdf, appropriate clothing, water, lunch
Dogs: No one has said that dogs are not allowed. If your canine friend likes water and is OK with a big crowd then I say go ahead and bring them.
Plan for the day: be at carpool spot at 8:00, then City Park about 9:45. Find out what section (1 or 2) we are most needed at. It sounds like any shuttling and/or moving of boats & vehicles will be taken care of for us. If we work section 1 we put in right at City Park
I have no idea how long this effort will take, so plan on most of the day.
All volunteers are invited to a free appreciation dinner at 6:00 pm. For all details (sections of the river, various meeting times, free camping for the weekend, volunteer dinner, etc)
