Harris Hill Raceway in San Marcos LABOR DAY

HHR is in San Marcos, TX about 45 minutes from SA. It is the best track in Texas to learn how to go fast on a motorcycle. That is why Colin Edwards and Kevin Schwantz both hold racer schools at this facility. This track is kinda like a country club but it does allow guests and I am inviting y'all. Instead of around 2 hours of track time like all the other TD's you get 5 or 6 straight hours of track time at HHR. $150 We also have one on one racing instruction.

We had a great time at Harris Hill on Labor Day. I started doing track days at H2R a couple years back and became a full member this year, and I have never regretted it. I've always had a good time and never felt unsafe from the other riders, even when I was one of the slowest guys out there.
As others have said come on out and at least look the place over, and then give it a ride. It's one of cheapest places around, and even more so if you sign up as a member.
Look forward to meeting some of you out there soon.

I'm an H2R member. I've pretty much stopped street riding (other than commuting and maybe riding with one or two other riders) because THE TRACK IS SAFER! The average age of riders at H2R tends to be a bit older, but then again we had a 12 year old girl out there yesterday. Yes, there are all skill levels of riders out there - from rank beginners to licensed CMRA racers. Instruction IS available for those who want it and that's a side $$$ deal between you and the instructor. Most new guys just go out and follow a buddy for as long as it takes for them to feel confident going it alone, and then they ride their own pace. People respect one another at this facility and they behave themselves 99.9% of the time. This is not a slam against Ride-Smart or any other group or track - I've had some great days with those folks! All I'm saying is that h2R is extremely rider-friendly, relaxed, convenient and FUN! Don't pass up the opportunity.

I would normally be all over this, but a friend and I visited HHR a month or so ago, and it was very disappointing. The faster riders had no respect for the slower riders or the passing rules, after reviewing our video after the track day, we saw some very dangerous situations that resulted from it.

If they would at least enforce their rules, it might be a safer track.

I felt a little uneasy my first time out there, but there was no disrespect-- even if I was a rolling chicane. Since then I've never felt in danger from another rider. Speak up though! The organizers won't be able to address a problem they don't know about.

Strider, not sure what track you were at. I've been riding H2R for three years straight and have RARELY seen a situation such as you cite, and when I did, it was not by members. I guarantee that the riding conditions at any other track are far more intense that what you'll find at Harris Hill. Sorry you didn't have a good time, but you're the first and only person I've ever haerd say this.

    So they require leathers?
    Do they rent them?
Are leathers included in the $150 ?

I'm not sure what he charges. I will try to find out. Gear Authority has some great entry level leathers too. Maybe even to get an idea what size you need.
