Welcome! Savannah Vegans is a coastal Georgia group for vegans, vegetarians, and those interested in exploring a plant-based/plant strong lifestyle for any reason, e.g., ethical, environmental, spiritual and/or health reasons. Many people simply want to help save animal lives!
You do not need to be vegan or vegetarian to join. We welcome everyone! We ask that everyone (and their guests, which we encourage you bring!) eat vegetarian or vegan at our events. Potlucks are vegan to ensure a comfortable and pleasant experience for all! This is a great way to try 100% plant strong eating even if just for one meal!
A vegetarian eats no flesh foods, fish and other seafood while vegans exclude all animal-derived ingredients, including dairy, eggs and honey. Wherever you are on the path to compassionate animal, earth and people friendly eating, or even if you are just veg curious, we welcome you!!!
Our events include dinner, lunch and brunch get togethers at local veg-friendly restaurants, potlucks, vegan outreach/tabling, outdoor adventures, healthy eating/cooking workshops, movie or documentary nights, veg-themed book club meetings and other ideas members come up with and share!
If you have an idea for an event or would like to host a gathering, please email email@example.com!
Because the primary purpose of our group is to create a strong veg community and provide support for each of you, please get involved! Meet new like minded friends and help us celebrate all that we have in common with each other! Whether your interest is in animal rights activism, the environment, health advocacy or just eating delicious vegan/plant based/plant strong food, come on out and have some fun!
Please remember to check the Get Notifications button at the top of the FB page!
If you are interested in helping the animals, please join our sister Meetup group, Savannah Animal Advocacy. http://www.meetup.com/Savannah-Animal-Advoc... This is the group that hits the streets, organizes all of our local community events and serves as a local, united voice in the community for the animals.
