I have been organizing climbing meetups at Planet Granite on Thursday evenings every other week. Unfortunately my free time has significantly decreased and I am unable to continue organizing meetups for this group on a consistent basis. I do not foresee any changes since I am planning on going to grad school part-time while working full-time.
I have met many great climbers through this group and appreciate that Meegan started this group back in October. Below is information on climbing opportunities.
If you are interested in organizing events for this group, here are the instructions on how to get started. Please be aware that being an Event Organizer, Assistant Organizer, or any other kind of organizer is all volunteer work/time through meetup. We are not paid to plan and organize events. How to organize events:http://www.meetup.com/sbclimbing/messages/boards/thread/8871504
There is also another group that meets every Tuesday at Sunnyvale Planet Granite if youre interested in joining that group.Weekly Tuesday Meetups at Sunnyvale Planet Granite:http://www.meetup.com/San-Jose-Climbers-Meetup-Group/
If you are interested in taking courses to improve upon your climbing, setting anchors, self-rescue, etc. these companies offer classes. The guides are certified in both Wilderness First Aid and certified by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) so they do everything possible to ensure your safety while you improve upon your climbing skills, learn to set anchors, etc.Courses:

*DISCLAIMER: While there are outdoor climbing meetup groups, please be aware that if you choose to participate, you will be climbing at your own risk. Climbing is
dangerous and everyone is responsible for their own safety when going through meetup groups. There are no guarantees that route setters through meetup have taken any courses from a certified American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) instructor nor are they AMGA certified nor are they certified in Wilderness First Aid.
Have fun climbing but please stay safe!
