1 Year Anniversary Meetup

  • August 26, 2013 · 6:00 PM

One year ago we had our first kick-off meeting, come and join us to celebrate our first anniversary!

Agenda

• "Short introduction into Scala reflection" by david pichsenmeister

• "Play à la Rails (ActiveRecord, Cucumber, ...)" by Sebastian Nozzi

• Highlights Development Agenda Vienna

• Retrospective of our last year's activities

• Ideas for the year ahead

• Practical hands-on (and mouth full) workshop about the cake pattern in the context of one (flaming) thread implementation :-)

We have some nice swag (books, t-shirts, ...) for the speakers and attendees, so if you have recently been trying out some Scala stuff and would like to tell us about it... send in your proposals down in the comments! ;-)

The following books are sponsored by O'Reilly Verlag!

Thank you both for the interesting talks, @Sebastian: I would be interested to hear some more about ActiveRecord in scala - for example, where can I find something about the implementation? ;-)

I would like to give an update on Cucumber for Scala in the context of a Play application. I'll also present this, but for the Ruby group, here: http://www.meetup.com/vienna-rb/events/125429382/

If time allows, I want to talk about my (still ongoing) journey of making Play development more Rails-like.
