Anyway, did You record the presentation on a VIDEO I can look at?

Hi Sebastian! I *did click* at the map, but simply *made a fault* ...

... I didn't take the printed out *map* with me, only my (hand-written) calendar, as usual, in the morning ...
And as there was, *by UNFORTUNE* a Josef Schwartz-Gasse nearby U4 Station Margaretengürtel, and I did *think* YOU (Stockwerk) are there, I searched for STOCKWERK in this Gemeindebau Josef Schwarzgasse 11 ...

Anyway, it's never too late to learn that Mariahilfer-Gürtel is *not* the Margaretengürtel !!!

For sure, next time I shall take the U6 and not the U3, and then U4, as I did :-(

*My Fault*, mi dispiace (italiano: tut mir leid ...)

Grüße an alle, und schönnen Donnerstag abend, Euch allen !

    Massa ThoMassa <grin>

Obviously the Margareten-Gürtel *is not* the Mariahilfer-Gürtel, and the Josef Schwartzgasse *not* the Pater Schwartzgasse as well.... :-(

Would a TWITTER-Stack help me in this case (had no Handy with me, as well :-)).

Anyway, I did see some nice SIRENES (Moslem ladies :-))). Thomas.

Hi Thomans. A pity you missed it! You can click on the location on the event page ("StockWerk" in this case), and a google-map will pop-up showing exactly where it is (of course you have to do this while you have an Internet connection ;-)

    You really made me ODYSSEUS:
I did want to join You all today evenening...

But: I didn't get the printed MAP with me, noted the Adress, and then ...

I went with the U4 to the GÜRTEL, went out at the Station Margareten-Gürtel, and ...

.. unfortunately there is a Josef Schwartzgasse nearby with a hughe *Gemeindebau* at No. 11, with 9 different stairs ...

No Chance to find *Stockwerk* there ...
... but met some nice turkish and serbian ladies and gents who did their best to find STOCKWERK.

It's a real pity that I have been on the road the whole day and ...

... that Google MAP does *not* note the LINE NUMBERS of the U's in Vienna.

Sorry I missed You today, hope You did enjoy the meeting ...

Next time I shall now which way to go ;-)

What I could do is to present a high level overview of the Twitter stack (Finagle, Ostrich,...). It's not only used by Twitter but also by other big companies like Tumblr, Foursquare, Pinterest and SoundCloud. Therefore I would argue that their stack is, judging from the standpoint of how many people it serves, way more important and better battle-tested than the whole Typesafe stack.

Disclaimer: I'm only getting started of discovering it myself, so I can basically only provide a summary of the documentation of the various projects. I can't speak from experience at the moment.

    Anyone interested?

It seems that I will be able to come on time after all (probably even 18:45!). We don't need to change the order, just wanted to let you know.

Ich werde versuchen pünktlich zu starten. Das hängt aber natürlich auch etwas von der Anzahl der anwesenden Personen ab. Bis am Abend :)

too bad .. another medical appointment makes me miss this ... I would have loved to hear the heretic ;-) ... 'better battle-tested than the whole Typesafe stack'

    1 · August 26

    • Dominik G.

Good luck with your appointment! We can discuss the heretic gospel next time then ;)

I see there are no more talks / ideas...? If needed I can also give a spontaneous talk about the Play / Akka based architecture of our production tool.

We can also make an open round of conversation, Q&A, etc. (about anything Scala, not related to my topics)

    3 · August 23

  • Sebastian N.

I would like to share some tips, strategies, approaches, etc. I learnt using ScalaTest in a production project.

Suitable for beginners. No advanced Scala here, just use of traits, correct usage of the ScalaTest DSL, usage of mocks, etc.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
