Abstract:
At Show Media, we have thousands of devices deployed across in the heart ofNew York and Las Vegas inside all the taxicabs and executive black cars. We routinely deliver huge media files to our device network in the field to power our transportation media network. Our content delivery process allows us to adapt to the harsh mobile environment and continue to scale the device population of our network. We would like to share our experience in file and content delivery over mobile connectivity in this talk.

About the speaker:

Jonathan Lau

Director of Engineering at Show Media, LLC,
Showmedia is media based technology startup that specializes in remotely manageable, interactive digital screen networks. Ever sat in the back of a cab that had a screen on which you can watch TV, track your ride map, and pay your bill? Yep, that's what ShowMedia does.

Jonathan is an experienced full stack software engineer. He has practical application knowledge in multiple domains including platform integration, cloud payments and billing, and backend architecture.

He has a passion for solving complex problems and scaling web applications.

Before his current role at ShowMedia, Jonathan served in various engineering and architectural roles on software and hardware products.

Parking is available on metered street parking. There is also a parking structure located on Cardiff off Culver with 2hrs free.
