Per Jacobsson from Google will be presenting "Sawzall - A Language For Parallel Data Analysis". Google collects lots of data, and being able to analyze it efficiently is important. Sawzall is a custom programming language designed for defining analysis jobs that can be executed on top of the MapReduce framework in a highly scalable fashion. The talk will give an overview of the language and discuss some of the interesting ideas involved in it.
Per is a software engineer at Google in Santa Monica. He's got more than 10 years of software development experience and his main interests are around scalable web technologies. Before joining Google he led some of the early development with Hadoop at eHarmony.
Next month will feature a new topic; I'm not sure what it is, but I think that the description simply hasn't been updated yet.

I didn't attend the last meetup but the description seems to be the same. Is this meetup a repeat presentation of the last or is it a continuation?
