What subgenre of science fiction do you enjoy writing?

I'm more interested in the speculative nature of science fiction than the science, per se. Right now, I'm working on a novel set in the 29th century, with Catholic themes.

I've been a college professor, graphic designer, blood donor recruiter, and more, but now I'm trying to concentrate on being a writer. Right now, I am working on a science fiction novel, and would like to meet other speculative fiction writers.
