Topic: "Science and Art of Sculpting Sugar"

Let's watch the presentation and then eat lunch and a sugary dessert nearby.

Sugar Sculptress and Chef Arlene Berry will show you the tricks of sugar sculpting. This demonstration highlights the amazing science of food and the extraordinary properties of sugar. When sugar gets to a certain temperature it behaves similar to glass, and can be molded, sculpted and formed into beautiful shapes, colors and textures. Chef Berry will delight and amaze in this sugar-coated presentation.

Meeting Place: The person at the info. desk will direct you to the lecture hall.

Admission is free.

Event description did not mention that the demonstration was at the baseball festival, with a $5 admission fee. I learned that a warmed sugar mixture is similar to glass blown artwork- flexible when heated, brittle when cooled. They inflated a sphere of the sugar candy and decorated it to look like a baseball!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
