This lecture was suggested by Matt from PhoenixSkeptics.org.

Topic: "The Republican Brain"

Speaker: Chris Mooney is a science journalist, author, and co-host of the skeptic podcast "Point of Inquiry".

In his recent book The Republican Brain: The Science of Why They Deny Science--and Reality, he investigates the types of political thinking: why we believe what we believe. Books will be available for purchase and there will be a book signing after the talk.

From Amazon:

"Science writer Chris Mooney explores brain scans, polls, and psychology experiments to explain why conservatives today believe more wrong things; appear more likely than Democrats to oppose new ideas and less likely to change their beliefs in the face of new facts; and sometimes respond to compelling evidence by doubling down on their current beliefs."

Event duration: 7pm - 8pm

Parking is available

Admission is $7
