Topic:  “The Science of Being Fit Minded "
Speaker: Jennifer Hubery, PhD, Associate professor at Arizona State University, School of Nutrition and Health Promotion, Exercise and Wellness program

Is a lack of physical activity affecting your health?  Jennifer Huberty, PhD, will discuss physical activity behaviors in American adults and the problem with using weight loss as a strategy to motivate individuals to modify their physical activity behaviors. She will suggest innovative strategies to help individuals adopt and maintain physical activity behaviors for a lifetime.


Afterward, we can continue the discussion at a nearby cafe,
or explore the regular exhibit galleries (free tonight),
or see featured exhibit ($7 tonight)
"Sesame Street: The Body",         or watch the 45-min show TBD ($8) at 8:15pm.


Meeting Place: The person at the info. desk will direct you to the lecture room. Entrance to the AZ Science Center tonight is for adults only. The night also features a cash bar and music (DJ).
Meeting time is 6:30pm.
Lecture duration is from 7pm - 8pm.
Validated parking (>$3) in the "Heritage Square Parking Lot" (SE corner 5th St and Monroe St, one block south of Van Buren St). Disregard any outside signs stating "$12 Event Parking".
Admission to the lecture is free.

    The lecture itself lacked sufficient "science" - hinging on one premise - changing one's focus to thinking fit. The PHD failed to include medical care in the pyramid upon which well being is focused.
