Read and Discuss: The Way of Natural History, edited by Thomas Lowe Fleischner

  • April 24, 2014 · 7:15 PM
  • Arizona State University, Noble Science Library

Please note the new date for this meeting.

In The Way of Natural History, scientists, nature writers, poets, and Zen practitioners show how mindful attention to the natural world can bring rewarding and surprising discoveries. They call for a renewal of natural history and provide models for personal interactions with nature. Attention to nature, the contributors argue, is a key pathway to nurturing our humanity, and it's more important than ever to connect with the natural world and the positive energy we can find there.

Scintillating discussions of the many essays in the book were quite satisfying, educational and enjoyed by the very cohesive, warm personalities in attendance. Come to the next one on "Garbology".

Thanks Vangie for such nice feedback! I really enjoy our conversations and the friendly people too. I'm looking forward to reading Garbology as well.

I waited too long, and now I can't find this book, anywhere locally. The libraries don't have it. Barnes and Noble doesn't have it. Changing Hands doesn't seem to have it.

I went ahead and ordered it from Amazon, since the date is being moved back. I bought it from a non-Amazon seller, because they often ship quicker than Amazon.

Hello all, I'm trying to sort out a *new date* for this meeting. The discussion leader isn't able to attend this Thursday, as well as a few of the regular attendees.

My travel has kept me away for the group activities. Hope I can start attending the events soon.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
