6pm-6:45pm  Join Arizona State University’s Center for Science and the Imagination and the Arizona Science Center to watch a free screening of the contemporary science fiction episode “Throne for a Loss” from the series’ first season.

Living starships. Super-soldiers. Sentient plants. Intergalactic empires. Wormholes. Animatronic puppets.

7pm-8pm  Following the screening, Center for Science and the Imagination Director Ed Finn will moderate a conversation with Elizabeth Bear, a Hugo, Locus and John W. Campbell Award-winning science fiction and fantasy author, and Brad Allenby, President’s Professor of Sustainable Engineering and Lincoln Professor of Engineering and Ethics at ASU.

The conversation will explore the scientific, technological, artistic and cultural dimensions of Farscape, and consider the relationship between science fiction and the cultures of science and technology.

Afterward, you can continue the discussion at a cafe or

explore the regular exhibit galleries (free tonight),

• see featured exhibit ($9 tonight) "Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science"

watch the IMAX show - "Mummies" ($8) at 8:15pm-9pm.

Meeting Place:  The person at the info. desk will direct you to the lecture room. Entrance to the AZ Science Center tonight is for adults only. The night also features a cash bar and music (DJ).

Lecture duration is from 7pm - 8pm.
Validated parking (>$3) in the "Heritage Square Parking Lot" (SE corner 5th St and Monroe St, one block south of Van Buren St). Disregard any outside signs stating "$12 Event Parking".
Admission to the lecture is free.

      I wish I had been able to get to my computer earlier.....damn. Evangeline, can we car pool next time? I live on West Pecos and Alma School. Found out how much it would cost and I think the a/c isn't getting fixed any time soon. Hope you had a super time. Let me know. And thank you.

    ive come here before during an event going on, and could not get in through any entrance, all were locked. everyone seems to enter just fine, can anyone tell me the exact entrance way? i even headed towards the museum to ask And it was locked as well.

    I am going to have to opt out as the air conditioner in my car decided yesterday that it no longer wanted to work. If I can find a ride or borrow a car, I will be there. Does anyone live in or very near Chandler? I can drive to meet you but driving into Phoenix at temps in the 100's without a/c just isn't feasible for me.
