That's Science Fiction: Flowers and Trees (1932) & The Call of Cthulu (2005)

This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month to view SF and other genre related films.

Join us for this very special double feature:  Disney's  Flowers and Trees (1932) and The Call of Cthulu (2005)

Flowers and Trees (1932) won the first Academy Award for Animated Short Subjects.  it is part of the Silly Symphonies  series.

The Call of Cthulu (2005) is a silent, black&white film based on Lovecraft's most famous story. It is the only story to feature the celebrated monster Cthulhu and in many ways it encapsulates the ideas that went on to permeate Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.

Dining follows the movie.

We showed The Skeleton Dance, The Old Mill, and of course Flowers and Trees. We then showed The Call of Cthulu and a making of documentary. A lot of fun. Chris Hasselkus

Flowers & Trees was a delighful animated short. The Call of Cthulu was interesting and I particularly enjoyed the extra "behind the scenes making of" shown following the movie.

Please keep in mind many of our members do not RSVP - they just show up. The number you see is not always the number present. We had 5 people RSVP for our New Year dinner and over 23 showed up :) We hope you'll join us for this fun double feature of two great films.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
