Dr Hans Heidner, Dr Karl Klose, and Dr José López-Ribot , presenters from UTSA’s South Texas Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases (STCEID), will start at approx. 12:20 pm and go one after the other. The presentations will be 40-45 mins long and include Q & A. These presentations are intended primarily for adults.
Biology demonstrations and activities occur concurrently out on the floor and in the Children’s area for kids, teens, and adults not attending the presentations.
The UTSA Nu Chi Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society and the STCEID are presenting a “Biology Lab”.
Biology classes at Trinity University will present a project/activity related to “good bugs in the gut”.
Students from UTSA’s Minority Biomedical Research Support programs will present an activity/project.
UTSA’s Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)are also attending.
The Girl Scouts of America will offer something especially for kids.
We will hold a poetry competition based on biology topics for kids.
