Citizens in Space has acquired a contract for 10 suborbital flights on the Lynx spacecraft, which is currently being developed by XCOR Aerospace. Citizens in Space will be selecting and training 10 citizen astronauts to fly as payload operators. We are also inviting citizen scientists to submit small payloads (approximately 100 in all) to fly on our flights. In addition to the general call for experiments, we will be offering cash prizes for the development of specific experiments that we deem to be of particular scientific interest. The first challenge, which was suggested by a NASA researcher, will be announced at Maker Faire in San Mateo on May 19-20. I am interested in getting the word out to as many people as possible. More details after May 19.
