be (hopefully will be) a fannish wake being held this weekend (most likely Saturday, if it happens at all) for longtime Milwaukee fan Lisa Mason, who lost her battle with cancer last Wednesday (I posted a note in the meetup forum).? It's very unlikely that I'm going to be attending the movie.
Nothing is certain about the wake, or any other memorial, as her family doesn't seem to be communicating with her circle of friends, and we haven't worked out who will host the wake or where it will be held; many of the usual fannish places -- like Lytheria -- have to be ruled out because of allergy issues.?
For those of you who didn't know her, Lisa had been on the convention committee for the defunct Milwaukee SF convention "First Contact" for as long as it existed, in several different roles, including convention chair.?? She was a librarian with the Milwaukee County Library, most recently assigned to the Library for the Blind.? She is survived by husband Mercury and preteen daughter Laura.

This is the week for the new movie. I may have plans early in the day on Saturday, otherwise I think I am free. Is there a preference for day / time? As usual, I am leaning toward the Rosebud as the theater to go to. I like the seating there. This is assuming they do not pull the movie at the last second, like they have sometimes before.
