Oz The Great and Powerful

Poster art for "Oz: The Great and Powerful."

Hi folks:

If there is anyone movie coming up in the near future that looks so stunning, beautiful, eye treat - candy, interesting, riveting story, it's this movie. Sure we all loved the 1939 classic movie Wizard of Oz.Then the Broadway show Wicked came out and added more depth and dimension to this beloved series of tales by L. Frank Baum. Now we are given this wonderful movie to add to it.At this point, we only have a little information to see this movie in 3d. I will list more times as it's posted.

Let's meet at the Colonie Center Regal Theaters at 6pm where tickets are sold.

Some more about the movie:

  • When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.
  • Cast: James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz
  • Director: Sam Raimi
  • Genres: 3D, Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi/Fantasy
