7th Annual Post Hunt sponsored by The Washington Post Magazine

The seventh Post Hunt, sponsored by The Washington Post Magazine, will be held Sunday, June 1. If you are the sort of person who’s amused by steaming faux doggie doo and naked butts, come! At noon sharp on June 1, thousands converge on Freedom Plaza in downtown Washington with that day’s Post Magazine. They then get instructions from Dave Barry, Gene Weingarten and Tom Shroder, and the Magazine, and set off on a hilarious three-hour race to solve a string of brainteasers set up within walking distance.

Finding the brainteasers is easy — who could miss a big butt? Solving the puzzles, not easy. But fun.

At least until you get to the End Game. That’s “Game of Thrones”-level torture. You can find videos that explain last year’s Hunt puzzles at washingtonpost.com/posthunt.

Come on out. There’s no admission. You’ll have a day to remember, and you could win $2,000. Just watch where you step!

While you can work as individuals, this event works best as a team. Make sure you bring plenty of water, sunscreen, your walking shoes, and I also recommend a battery backup for your cell phone.

This event can get packed very quickly, so I'll send my phone # and meeting details to those who RSVP yes the day before.

My team left the horse statue between 11:30 and 11:45. I didn't spot Marc or Sharyn at the time, but did see him later in the event. Sharyn, were you able to find Marc?

Matt, did you find out if your team from last year is meeting up with you or will you need a new team? Since I posted this, my cousin, her fiancé, his brother, a coworker, and his girlfriend all said they are coming with- so I went from a 2 person team to a 6 person team.

Yes, I'm in a team which is a mix of people from last year + others. BTW, a PDF of the magazine is linked from the Post Hunt website (washingtonpost.com/posthunt/ ) if anyone wants to look it over before Sunday morning.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
