Do you prefer to read the same type of fiction you write?

No. While I like to read material similar to mine, doing so is not a preference. I like to read a wide range of interesting things --especially in the SF/F genre. If I only read my own writing type, I never would have read the Harry Potter books.

I began writing a story when I was 10, but I stopped. I started writing another story at 19, but I realized that it was the same story. I was meant to write it, but I was too undisciplined. Life happened! Now I'm 40 and I'm ready to finish it. Help!
