Scrabble Thursday at Teaism!!

Hey Scrabble friends! It's that time again....we're ready to invade Teaism at Penn Quarter (metro stop: Archives/Navy Memorial) with our Scrabble boards! Usual start time of 6pm...as always, if you're tardy, you might have to wait for a new game to begin. But, Teaism boasts a cool food menu, so that can keep you busy if you have to wait. If you have a board and/or dictionary, please bring those along. If you're new to the group, we'd be thrilled to have you join us at this event. See you Thursday!!

Teaism is not a very good venue. Though convenient to Metro (a plus), the track lighting is poor (dim), making keeping score and using the dictionary difficult. Plus, I don't care for the menu offerings, so all I had was a beer.

I enjoy playing relaxed Scrabble games. I had also heard of Teaism, but had never eaten there. The food was so-so, but fine for what it was (semi-fast food, relatively inexpensive). I should have tried their teas. The facility was good, because it wasn't especially crowded.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The only criticism --and this is a stretch -- is players need to finish a game and mingle with others. After all, the purpose of a meet-up is meet other people.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
