Here's a hike for wimps :) the Extended Family Walk around Sok Kwu Wan (rating: 2/5).

The first 30 minutes is a shady uphill climb - the only ascending section of the walk. It's certainly worth it for the view from the top is panoramic. The descent takes us to a coastal path leading to some abandoned villages and secluded bays. We'll finish at another sandy beach - Mo Tak Wan (20 min away from Sok Kwu Wan pier) where we wrap up with beer / meal and scrabble at The Bay Restaurant.

1. meet at 1.30pm at Central Pier No. 4 for ferry to Sok Kwu Wan
2. ferry leaves at 1.50 pm so we can't wait for late-comers
3. the walk takes about 2 hours

a. walk 20 min to Sok Kwu Wan pier for the 7.35 pm ferry to Central
b. a 'Kaido' (a junk service) pier is right next to the restaurant, the 'Kaido' ride takes 30 min to Aberdeen (Hong Kong Island) and leaves at 6.30 pm and 7.15 pm .
