Feb Meeting - A Skype with Marilyn Horowitz plus 10 page read

Hello everyone!!  This is going to be a fun meetup!!

We'll read three projects.  So bring 10 pages of your script - with enough copies so that each of your characters has enough copies plus one for the stage directions.  It will be first come/ first serve- so the first people there with scripts will get their work read.

We will also have a 45 minute skype session with NYU Screenwriting professor Marilyn Horowitz!!  She will talk about herself, and learn about our group, she'll talk about the upcoming extensive weekend workshop that she'll be having with us here in Baltimore!!  And she'll also take some of your screenwriting questions!!  Very fun night at the Baltimore Screenwriter's Coffee Club!!

Here's Marilyn's bio and website:

Also- when we have the weekend workshop, I'll also be throwing a meet and greet party for Marilyn!  So I hope that all the members of my club can make it!!  I look forward to seeing many new faces at these events!!

The night was cold and rainy but the room was warm with friends and creativity. Please let me know what is worked out with Marilyn. I'm very interested in attending.

I found Marylyn's take on the process to be helpful and it gave me hope that things might be easier now for those of us who are committed to this coast, for various reasons. I just have to keep plugging away, I guess. Thanks Elena for arranging this. As always, I appreciate the input on my WIP.

Thank you elena for hosting a wonderful meeting and to the 3 brave souls who shared their work, pieces of a larger puzzle, works in progress, always makes us wonder what the meaning and drive of the totality is, truly fascinating. Thank you all who came out for your presence, all presents. Thank you Marilyn for giving us peeks inside hollywood and the road to get there. 15 years, me too, but quite a different set of circumstances and experiences. Nice to know that some of you regularly attend the meetings, it does give me more incentive to do the same.

I found the meeting to be very interesting, although much of what was discussed went right over my head. In time, I expect that that will change. I look forward to the next meeting in March. Marilyn was blunt and informative, but a bit difficult to hear at times. Hopefully, I'll have the opportunity to attend one of her workshops here in Baltimore. Judging from her comments, I'm not quite ready to make an appearance in The Big Apple.
