We will share and discuss 3-5 pages from those that would like to submit a portion of their original screenplay for the group to review.  For those who would like feedback, this will require that you submit your work at least one week prior to the meet up.

We will also focus on the following:  Story Summary/Skeleton, Dialogue, Exposition.

Note that the Nicholls Academy contest deadline is May 1st.

Enjoyed reading everyone's work...here is a pretty good 8 minute video about First Acts...from the writer of Toy Story 3... http://johnaugust.com/2014/michael-arndt-on-setting-a-story-in-motion

This was a great interactive experience. I learned a lot about my own work by reading others. Awesome!

Sorry but I won't be able to make it this time, so someone else can have my spot.

Just wanted to share an update. I lost my job last week and enrolled into the New York Film Academy. I begin film making classes this Monday in NYC.

Just a friendly reminder. Anyone wanting to share pages and get feedback please try to submit pages by close of business Friday. This will give some folks weekend time to read and make notes before the meet-up.

We have a couple submissions already. Looking forward to yours! Pick 3-5 pages. If there is a specific area you would like feedback (action, compelling conflict, scene descriptions, dialog) make a note of it when you submit your pages and it will be passed along to your fellow readers.

Meetup.com does not disclose everybody's email addresses so if you want to receive the pages, please forward your address or send a note to [masked].

Brian/Cheryl--How do we share our 3-5 pages? sorry for being clueless here...

No apologies necessary. Go ahead and email it to one or both of us. It brings up a good point, I need to check if we have email addresses for those attending so we can send them scripts to read in advance.

    Just a couple reminders.

    1. The "deadline" to submit pages and expect feedback from your peers is a week prior. Ideally Friday, April 11 so we can turn around and send them out for other attendees to read and make notes over the weekend and into the next week. We'll discuss pages in the order received. Please send them to Cheryl and myself (either one and we'll make sure the other gets a copy).

This is our first time through this and we'll figure it out along the way. Obviously we will try to get through everybody's pages (even late submissions!) and we'll get through more pages if everyone has read them and made notes beforehand. You can learn a lot reading other people's pages (I have!).

Another reminder that the Nicholl deadline is May 1st!

    2. If something comes up and you are unable to make it please change your RSVP status ASAP as a courtesy to other members and LPQ! We notify LPQ the day before how many of us to expect on Saturday morning.

    Thank you and keep writing!
