Very good articulation from Ahmed on core issues of the deeper values and principles of Agile and how they -- rather than any particular practices -- are fundamental to Agile Transformation. A highlight: Ahmed connected Carol Dweck's (excellent) work on Mindset to Agile convincingly. I had previously thought of Agile-in-the-large as an umbrella term for various practical methodologies and approaches to bring into being a Learning Organization in the sense of Peter Senge, but as I understand them Ahmed's points are more fundamental: an organizational culture that embodies a growth mindset is a pre-requisite for real Agile transformation, and the Agile values and practices pretty much encapsulate what it means to have a growth mindset with respect to work.

Also good was the argument that Agile really lives in the Ri (per Shu Ha Ri). Too often of late teams are getting trapped in the "shu box".

Thanks, and I'll try - unfortunately I have a standing commitment on Wednesday nights: I teach a weekly jiu-jitsu class. Highly applied shu-ha-ri!
