We had a great time but I was severely dehydrated despite not drinking alcohol the night before and I was sure I had enough water in my system! You just never know how things are going to go sometimes. Looking forward to the next one though! Thanks for hosting Allen!

There were some challenges but the morning dives were amazing. The Sea Emperor was teaming with colorful life and the reef was crazy full of critters.

Allen----I'm bringing nitrox for the morning dives but will need to rent air for the afternoon. How much for air from Parrot Island?

    August 12, 2013

  • Keith R.

Hey Alan and Lorna, y'all mentioned that the hotel gives a special rate for scuba divers. On Expedia I see that the room is available for $95 per night. Is the scuba divers rate cheaper?

    August 8, 2013

    • Keith R.

Awesome! Thanks! We cannot wait to go!!! We will see y'all next Friday night!

      August 9, 2013

Hotel room reserved, $20 cheaper than online! Thanks again and we shall see y'all next week!

VERY STRONGLY considering this one for my girlfriend and I. It looks like it will be a good dive for her as a beginner and its on a weekend! Wow! Seems like those have been scarce. I will definitely let y'all know for certain ASAP.

Thanks! I guess both Saturday dives is what we will be doing and we definitely want regular air tanks from the boat. Is it safe to assume that your telling the captain this is our plan then we are set? Or do I need to arrange that myself? I prefer the boat to supply those so we don't have to physically deal with any of that!

Where is a good place to learn to scuba dive. I'm a beginner

    1 · July 30, 2013

    • Allen_&_Lorna

John, We have several sponsors who are excellent for training, the closest one to you is Wet-N-FL. This is also where we hold our monthly meetings. Call and check their schedule, you may be able to join us on the 17th! Also tell Phil or Larry that you have joined the club.

I just thought of this...is nitrox required? I am not certified for that yet

    July 15, 2013

    • Allen_&_Lorna

No it is not required, but it would be beneficial. The maximum depth on the first dive is well within NDL limits and is rated for basic OW divers (that means it's safe). you can access the Navy no decompression dive table here: http://www.ndc.noaa.g...

      July 15, 2013

    • Allen_&_Lorna

I'm sorry, that would be the "NOAA No-decompression Air Table"

I'd love to learn how to scuba dive. We live in Ormond Beach, about 60 miles northeast of Orlando. Any recommendations as how how we can get started?
    Thanks!

I sent a personal message, look at our sponsors ESP Blue Water and Spruce Creek

Thanks for all your suggestions and help!

      July 12, 2013

  • Allen_&_Lorna

FYI This price is the $10 discount. It is a "special Lake Mary Scuba Club price".
