Anyone interested in diving Fri Nov 23 ? (Maybe Sat Nov 24)
On Friday I was planning on picking up tanks at a Monterey dive shop as soon as they open at 9:00 am and heading to the site.
Some of us have reservations for Lobos and plan to dive there, conditions permitting. If you dont have reservations for Lobos, they are now full.
However, if conditions remain hairy, we may need to change plans and move to a more sheltered site. So if folks dont have reservations, please keep communication with me, as I may need to join you at Breakwater or somewhere.
Apparently there are lots of Humboldt squid in our waters, visiting us (colonizing us?) from more tropical locales (maybe we'll have el Nino this year). It would be cool to see these guys in the water.
Pt Lobos is an intermediate dive (long surface swim, lots of kelp sometimes). If its very stormy, there is the possibility of ugly conditions/cancel the dive at Lobos, as its not very protected. We'll keep an eye on conditions closer to the dive.
