How long have you been knitting? New enthusiast or old hand? What are your favorite knitting techniques these days?

Learned to knit as an adolescent and knitted into my early 20's. Took a long hiatus to pursue an interest in quilting and picked my knitting back up in 2006, spurred on by an interest in learning to knit socks.

What kind of objects do you like to knit? Do you keep 'em, sell 'em or give 'em away?

I've knit mostly socks, scarves and shawls of which the vast majority of them have been given as gifts

How did you start knitting? Who taught you and how did you catch the bug?

My sister initially showed me to do basic knit and purl when I was about 8. Most of what I've learned subsequent has been from books and all the remarkable tools available these days on the internet.

What is one topic you want to learn more about in knitting or fiber arts, and why?

I would love to have the confidence to pursue more garment knitting. I have made a couple of sweaters but they have been more amorphous in nature as opposed to having real shape.

Introduction

I enjoy all kinds of fiber crafts; i.e. knitting, crochet, quilting, machine embroidery and, as of late, weaving.
