How long have you been knitting? New enthusiast or old hand? What are your favorite knitting techniques these days?

I started knitting about 2 1/2 years ago when I got laid off and was pregnant with my first. I didn't really get into it until recently. Latest technique I've been using is magic loop.

What kind of objects do you like to knit? Do you keep 'em, sell 'em or give 'em away?

I've made beanies, scarves, and booties. The funniest are the ones I do for kids because I like to use bright colors. I give them as gifts.

How did you start knitting? Who taught you and how did you catch the bug?

I was bored and my mom had bought the Klutz kids Learn To Knit kit to try to teach herself (she crochets). She had a hard time and gave up. So I asked if I could try so maybe I could make something for the baby. Pretty much I taught myself with the book and YouTube videos. I like the accomplishment and my friends and family faces when they get a beanie. :-) It's one of the few things I've picked up without too much difficulty... Thanks to YouTube.

What is one topic you want to learn more about in knitting or fiber arts, and why?

Hmm right now improvements on technique, new patterns, new ways to knit. I really like the challenge and seeing the final product.

Introduction

I'm a stay at home mom to 2 little ones, a 2 year old and a 1 year old. Hoping to make it out once in a while for adult conversation while knitting. :-)

What Veronica is saying about this Meetup Group

So glad I've joined! I attend the Thursday evening group. I'm hoping to attend a Monday or Wednesday group after my mother-in-law retires in March so that she can watch the kids. :-)
