I have been knitting for about 40 years now. I got my first set of needles when I was just six, and have been knitting off and on since. I have been a serious knitter for the past 20 years. At present, I really enjoy making lace--the more complex, the better since I really want a challenge.
I knit a lot of lace and hats and scarves and bags and felted stuff. I give absolutely everything away and have not kept anything for myself. In fact, I have been known to give lace stuff to perfect strangers who remark to me that they like the item. It's weird, I know I can make the same item again for myself, which is why I don't have a problem giving it away, but then I never make it again.
I started knitting when I was six and was taught by my mom. Back then, however, yarn choices were pretty limited, so it was not until I was in my 20s that is started really knitting in earnest.
Hmmmm...that's a tough one. I have taken so many classes in knitting that I actually teach this craft to others. I guess the one thing I am always trying to improve upon is my finishing techniques. I am lousy with zipper installations, so I would probably want to do more of that or some one has an easier method that is completely pucker free, I am so there!!
Hi I am Grace, an avid knitter. crafter and jewelry maker. I will also admit to being reluctant crochet person from time to time.
