How long have you been knitting? New enthusiast or old hand? What are your favorite knitting techniques these days?

I learned to knit at about 8 years of age, and to crochet at about 16. I didn't do either for over twenty years, and picked it up again about three years ago. I'm amazed at the wonderful yarns and the cool implements available now that we didn't even dream of in the 60s and 70s. And of course, YouTube videos...

What kind of objects do you like to knit? Do you keep 'em, sell 'em or give 'em away?

I knit all kinds of things, but like to have a portable project (like socks or hats) in my bag at all times to work on the fly. Lately I have become enamored of lace shawls and knitted toys, but they require more concentration.

How did you start knitting? Who taught you and how did you catch the bug?

My aunt taught me when I was in third grade. She had the patience of a saint. :)

What is one topic you want to learn more about in knitting or fiber arts, and why?

I'm pretty comfortable with knitting and can pick up most techniques if I can see it demonstrated on a YouTube video. Right now I am trying to learn tatting, and it is hard to find other tatters.
