How long have you been knitting? New enthusiast or old hand? What are your favorite knitting techniques these days?

I've been knitting for about six or seven years. I really like learning new techniques, but I'm fairly comfortable with lace, cables, and many other things. I love learning from other people.

What kind of objects do you like to knit? Do you keep 'em, sell 'em or give 'em away?

I mostly knit socks and give them away as gifts. Of course, I keep trying to knit myself some but then my husband says that he wants another pair. :)

How did you start knitting? Who taught you and how did you catch the bug?

As a kid, I knew how to crochet but stopped. Several years ago, my friend was into crocheting. I went to a guild meeting with her and picked up the hook again. However, I felt unsatisfied and really wanted to learn how to knit so I taught myself.

What is one topic you want to learn more about in knitting or fiber arts, and why?

I want to find the guts finish seaming up a sweater that I knit a few years back. I would also love to try spinning some new fibers on my wheel that I haven't yet spun.

Introduction

I love knitting socks but would love to expand my skills. Of course, I can still keep a pair of socks going, too, right? ;) I'm a full-time student and am a lone knitter but really want to find a good community of people to join.
