How long have you been knitting? New enthusiast or old hand? What are your favorite knitting techniques these days?

I started knitting about three years ago. I recently started trying lace-style patterns which have been really fun.

What kind of objects do you like to knit? Do you keep 'em, sell 'em or give 'em away?

I'm still something of a beginner but I love making large afghans, baby blankets, beanies and baby booties. I typically keep the afghans but all the others I give away.

How did you start knitting? Who taught you and how did you catch the bug?

My sister and I picked up a "learn to knit kit" at a craft store and spent hours one day reading and watching knitting videos on you-tube. I've purchased a numbers of books, including "Stitch and Bitch" and just try to learn as I go. My grandmother loved needle crafts of all kinds and she inspired me to pick up knitting.

What is one topic you want to learn more about in knitting or fiber arts, and why?

There are more than one I can name! There are always new kinds of stitches to learn and ways to improve technique. I just want to learn it all!

New to the South Bay and looking for new friends that enjoy knitting. I'm 32, married, no kids, one cat and one dog. I work in the financial industry and commute to San Mateo during the week.
