Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and am now getting into some of the "retro-clone" games, such as Labyrinth Lord and Swords and Wizardry. I'm also into computer role playing games, and have played pretty much all the D&D games for PC after '98, and the Elder Scrolls games. And the Witcher, love the Witcher!
Actively playing tabletop for about 6 years, before that I had a hard time finding people to play so played rarely. However I've always had the books, and have always been into the games and played a little here and there.
breaking open that old D&d boxed set.... the blue dice, all that. I must have made ten characters over the coming week. I just recently scored that old set once again on Ebay. It's a wonderful thing
It's fun, but I like playing far more.
I dont like jaded, bored players who have "seen it all" and constantly break things by saying "ok, here comes the hook" or Monty Haul this or that. I know youve seen it all, but dont ruin it for those who havent. I dislike the tendency for some male/female comprised groups to start falling into the dick joke/ sexual innuendo routine. I grab my staff, oh watch your sword, har har. Everything's a dick joke, or metaphor for something else. It doesnt offend me, I find it tiresome and just dont find it entertaining or think it makes for a worthwhile rpg session. I'm also good for about 4 hours max, I dont do the 6 hour or all-day marathon sessions.
I have been into tabletop/computer RPGs for as long as I can remember, and prefer the standard dwarves/wizards/elves/fighters tolkien-esque style fantasy tropes. Tho I can say I enjoyed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (dark side)
