PyLadies Demo/Project Night

This is a casual environment for PyLadies of all levels to demo what they are working on. NO PROJECT IS TOO SMALL. If you don't have a project, come to work through some tutorials or get help starting a project. This is one tutorial that gives you a sampling of what you can do with python + data vis, python + APIs, and python + web scraping:

Demos:

Carol Naslund WillingRaspberry Pi, OpenHatch, Local Education Outreach (CSTA and SDSC).

Carol will bring a  Raspberry Pi setup for those that haven't had a chance to use one yet. She will also demonstrate OpenHatch and its Open Source Comes to Campus outreach program. OpenHatch is a friendly project that helps people get involved in contributing to open source. Carol will give a brief overview of good work being done by the local CSTA/SDSC/UCSD group to support CS education and local teachers.

Want to demo something you're working on? Contact Juliet with your topic.

Parking is free- more details to be provided closer to event.

Pizza and drinks will be provided by our sponsor Qualcomm Institute.

Thank you for coming. Until next time, happy coding. Please feel free to ask questions as they come up. We're also doing informal Tuesday evening meetings in La Jolla this month.

Thanks for coming out to the meeting last night. It was nice to meet you. A special thanks to Erik for coordinating the room and dinner and to Juliet for organizing the demo night (and an A+ for heroic effort to attend). I've put the presentation slides, screencasts, and take away file of links in a repo on my github account (http://github.com/willingc/pyladies-sd). If you have any trouble downloading, please let me know.

Just wanted to double-check: CALIT2 isn't actually a separate building but is part of Atkinson Hall, correct?

You are right. CALIT2 is in Atkinson hall
