Weekend-Before-Hallowe'en Game Day at Mangia Italiano in Chula Vista!! Yay!!

Dig out all your spookiest games and let's play! Any games with Halloween themes -- monsters, witches, dark-and-stormy nights, vampires, ghosts, etc... Come down to Mangia Italiano in Chula Vista for Weekend-Before-Halloween Game Day! We'll start early and play all day and into the night! Costumes are welcome! RSVP as soon as possible so we can get a head count -- and no, this does not include the heads you have rotting under the floor boards...

Mwahahahahahahaaaa....

It would be great to have some of our newer members join us. If weeknights have not worked out for you, here's a chance to come and meet us.  We'll try to keep it light so that new players will be comfortable. If you're bringing strategy games, please consider the "newbies" -- try to include them in something that won't scare them off! And to all those newbies, we'd love to teach you something new! Think about it (we'll be gentle).  Everyone, come on out and join us!

Please RSVP for yourself and your guest(s). Bring some games, bring a friend, bring a smile.
The places we meet are usually businesses with great Coffees, Teas, Smoothies and Snacks; even sometimes Breakfast and Lunch, so bring your wallet too in case you'd like some refreshment.
Use comments under the event and/or in your RSVP's to communicate with each other about attending, and KEEP CHECKING here for updates from your fellow gamers. I highly recommend that everyone "friend" each other on Facebook and exchange phone numbers for last-minute communications.
Hope you can make it!

Lots of fun, lost at 5 Queens again but Stewart didn't win. Loved the costumes, especially Pirate Queen and the Witches, good Zebra too. Honorable Mention to Stewart/Randy.

Reminder to all: There's a public parking lot behind Mangia that's free on Sundays. Just walk up the side of the building to get to the front door this time.

Sunday I'm still busy until 4 pm. Will that be too late to arrive?

    October 21, 2012

    • Randy W.

Actually, there have been times at Mangia when we've played as late as 9 or 10! And the Halloween event should have us there for a good while.

This event has changed from Saturday the 27th to Sunday the 28th. Remember -- costumes are encouraged! Also, remember that this time we will be in the bar area of the restaurant. The back room, our usual place, will be in use by another group this time. It may be best for us to enter and exit at the FRONT of the building this time.

Up front even though it's moved back to Sunday?

I really wanted to go to the Chula Vista location on Saturday. I'm busy on Sunday and I will not be able to attend. When will you be coming back to Chula Vista?.....

Dang! Sorry the date change doesn't work for you, Gladys. We will play at Mangia Italiano again soon. Maybe you can join us at another location before that, but I'll try to get a Mangia date posted right away. By the way, I've never played Cathedral, but I've seen it and it looks interesting (maybe not very haunting, though...hehe).

Hey Randy -- did you intend for this to be on Saturday? I'd initially thought this was the regular Sunday meeting up -- but I see it's on my calendar on Saturday -- which is what day of the week the 27th is.

You might want to consider editting the body of the message then -- because it talks about Lily's and matches everything you post for Sunday meetups. I wouldn't be surprised if there are others who think this is a Sunday event and never double check and show up at Mangia on Sunday. Are you not planning a Sunday meetup that weekend?

      October 10, 2012

    • Randy W.

I actually WAS expecting to have both -- the Saturday event for Halloween, then a regular Sunday event. HOWEVER, this one has been changed to Sunday and will now be IN PLACE OF the regular Sunday event.
